A First Look at ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ on Disney Channel and Disney+
There’s a new wizard on Waverly Place on Disney Channel and Disney+’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
The Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series will make its two-episode debut on Tuesday, October 29, at 8/7c on Disney Channel. Two more new episodes will air on Wednesday, October 30, at the same time. The two nights of new episodes are part of Disney Channel’s Halloween celebration — Monstober.
New episodes will air weekly on Disney Channel, beginning on Friday, November 8, at 8/7c. Wizards Beyond Waverly Place‘s first eight episodes will be available to stream on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand on Wednesday, October 30.

Selena Gomez, an executive producer of the sequel series and star of the original Disney Channel series, announced the show’s title at the Disney Upfront in New York in May 2024. Gomez will also guest star as Alex Russo on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
The new trailer shows Alex bringing a young wizard, Billie (Janice LeAnne Brown), to Alex’s older brother Justin Russo’s house to train her. Billie is prone to magical mistakes, but “the fate of the world is in her hands.”
David Henrie, also an executive producer of the show, reprises his Wizards of Waverly Place role of Justin as a series regular.
Set 12 years after Wizards of Waverly Place, Justin has “chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman, and Milo,” giving up his job of teaching wizards. That is until Alex brings Billie to the Russo family home.

“Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World,” per the show’s synopsis.
Disney Branded Television announced Wizards Beyond Waverly Place in March 2024. The series was originally reported in January 2024.
“Wizards of Waverly Place captivated hearts with its spellbinding adventures and big laughs, creating unforgettable memories for kids and families everywhere,” Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said in March 2024.
“We can’t wait to step back into the magical world of Wizards, inviting both longtime fans and a new generation to experience the enchantment alongside Selena, David, and our incredible cast and crew,” Davis added.

Wizards of Waverly Place is a Disney Channel show about a family of wizards that aired for four seasons from 2007 to 2012. The original series spawned two movies — Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie in 2009 and The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex in 2013.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place stars Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, and Max Matenko as Milo Russo. Newcomer Taylor Cora will play Winter, Billie’s bubbly, quirky, and oversharing best friend.
Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Gary Marsh is also the executive producer of the Disney Branded Television series. Andy Fickman directed and executive-produced the pilot and will direct multiple episodes. Production began in April 2024.
