Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 10 Review: The House Always…
On Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 10, “The House Always…,” the last remaining mystery is wrapped up, and the show sets the stage for what will be next season’s big mystery.
As far as the reveal as to who killed Lester, it is a bit underwhelming.
Anytime the “a-ha!” moment involves a clue we can’t see followed by a character claiming they know who did it, it’s anticlimactic. We aren’t discovering something new with the characters; we’re simply waiting to be let in on the details.

Sure, everyone loves a good monologue, but for the final killer reveal, it leaves something to be desired. However, Mabel revealing who killed Lester by chopping off their fake finger is applause-worthy. Bloody Mabel is not to be trifled with!
Mabel remembering what Lester texted his wife shows how good of a sleuth she is because that’s a clue that hasn’t been mentioned in a while. I don’t know about you, but I forgot all about it.
One wonderful thing the Only Murders in the Building Season 5 finale delivers on is that the Arconia shows up to support Charles, Mabel, and Oliver.
After all of them rallying around our trio on Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 9, “LESTR,” there was hope that this wouldn’t be a one off where they all went back to sort of tolerating our trio and their murder investigations.

Thankfully, we see various residents and employees of the Arconia stepping up when it becomes apparent that our trio is missing.
Here’s hoping Only Murders in the Building Season 6 will continue this trend of having our trio be a bit more beloved rather than shunned by their neighbors. Charles, Mabel, and Oliver having to keep people from becoming too involved in their investigation could be a fun change up.
As far as next season goes, Cinda Canning’s murder has potential to be really exciting. She has ties to the trio’s past, from why they first bonded to prior run-ins with Cinda herself.
Plus, it only makes sense that our trio travels to London to uncover what got Cinda killed. It’s doubtful that her death has nothing to do with the subject of her newest podcast.

With that, another season of Only Murders in the Building comes to a close. We laughed, we fell in love with a robot, and we worried about Howard’s attachment to said robot. It was a fun season.
Stray Thoughts
- Did any of this season’s mystery actually end up recorded for the podcast?
- Congrats on finally doing something not terrible, Jay. We’re all so proud.
- Who exactly owns the Arconia now?
- Charles, Mabel, and Oliver could’ve used a better plan when confronting the billionaire trio. It didn’t feel fully thought out.
- I choose to believe Cinda sought out the Arconia because she knew the trio could solve her murder.
- Magic saves the day!
