Tell Me Lies Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by Hulu

Hulu’s Tell Me Lies will return for its second season this September.

Adapted from Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, the drama series will pick up with Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco returning “to college, not speaking after their dramatic breakup at the start of the summer,” per the season’s synopsis.

Tell Me Lies Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, September 4, on Hulu with two episodes. The eight-episode season will stream new episodes weekly. 

The series made its three-episode debut in September 2022, and its 10-episode season ended with Tell Me Lies Season 1 Episode 10, “The Bedrooms of Our Friends,” in October 2022.

During the drama’s sophomore season, Lucy and Stephen are “very much at odds” and “find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic – which is as infuriating as it is inescapable.”

The seven new images released by Hulu tease that emotional rollercoaster that will expand “deeper into the lives of Lucy and Stephen’s friend group” after the fallout of Season 1.

Tell Me Lies‘s Season 2 cast includes Grace Van Patten as Lucy, Jackson White as Stephen, Cat Missal as Bree, Spencer House as Wrigley, Sonia Mena as Pippa, Branden Cook as Evan, and Alicia Crowder as Diana.

Deadline exclusively reported in January 2024 that Lucifer‘s Tom Ellis would join the Hulu show’s second season. The streamer has released a first-look image of his character,  Professor Oliver. TV Line describes the character  as one who will have a “‘chaotic’ influence over one of the show’s main characters.”

Tell Me a Lies Season 2 will also feature Gossip Girl‘s Thomas Doherty as a recurring guest star. 

Meaghan Oppenheimer serves as executive producer and showrunner for Tell Me Lies.

Emma Roberts, co-founder Karah Preiss, and Matt Matruski executive produce under their Belletrist banner. Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan are executive producers for Rebelle Media. Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer also serve as executive producers. Lovering is a consulting producer. 20th Television produces the Hulu Original series.
