Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for Season 5 — but not on NBC. Instead, the show will be making the move to Peacock.

This news comes after weeks of speculation about the series’ future with NBC. The other iterations in Dick Wolf’s franchise — Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — were renewed back in March, with Law & Order: Organized Crime being the last remaining series in limbo.

Created by Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, and Ilene Chakin, Law & Order: Organized Crime follows the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they take on New York City’s most vicious and violent criminal syndicates.

Christopher Meloni rejoined the universe in 2021 as a newly returned Det. Elliot Stabler, who spent the last few years overseas working as a liaison for the NYPD. Having made his mark when he originated the role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, fans were glad to see Meloni fighting crime in NYC again.

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 has gotten to know Det. Stabler more than ever before through the introduction of his older brother, Randall, and his younger brother, Joe Jr.

Law & Order: Organized Crime rewrites how Wolf Entertainment handles this franchise, the first one to toss out the episode of the week format. Focusing on cases that span multiple episodes, this series dives deeper into character development and the viewers’ attachment to the criminals sought after.

Alongside Christopher Meloni as Det. Stabler, the series stars Danielle Moné Truitt as Sargeant Ayanna Bell, Ainsley Seiger as Jet Slootmaekers, and Rick Gonzalez as Bobby Reyes.

With a move to Peacock, the show will be able to continue telling the stories of Det. Elliot Stabler, Sargeant Ayanna Bell, and their team as they face both personal and professional challenges. There has been no word yet on which cast members will be returning.
