The Witcher Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at Netflix
Things are happening on The Continent!
The Witcher Season 4 has officially begun production. Netflix has released a sneak peek of the cast, including Liam Hemsworth, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey, at the recent table read.
Hemsworth took over the role of Geralt from Henry Cavill after Cavill exited with The Witcher Season 3 Part 2. Hemsworth isn’t the only newcomer to the Netflix drama. As reported in January, Laurence Fishburne will join Season 4 as Regis.

The other cast members who will appear in The Witcher‘s upcoming season are Eamon Farren, Anna Shaffer, Mimî M Khayisa, Cassie Clare, Mahesh Jadu, Meng’er Zhang, Graham McTavish, Royce Pierreson, Mecia Simson, Sharlto Copley, Danny Woodburn, Jeremy Crawford, Bart Edwards, and Hugh Skinner.
Other ensemble members include James Purefoy, Christelle Elwin, Fabian McCallum, Juliette Alexandra, Ben Radcliffe, Connor Crawford, Aggy K. Adams, Linden Porco, Therica Wilson-Read, Rochelle Rose, and Safiyya Ingar.
The Witcher‘s penultimate season “follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other,” per its synopsis.
“If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.”

Netflix also announced that the high fantasy drama has been renewed for Season 5, which will be the final season and will be filmed back-to-back with Season 4.
The Witcher‘s fourth and fifth seasons will adapt Sapkowski’s remaining books: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.
“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” creator, showrunner, and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends,” Schmidt Hissrich added.

The Witcher‘s Season 4 writers are Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (401), Tania Lotia (402), Rae Benjamin (403), Troy Dangerfield (404), Matthew D’Ambrosio (405), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (406), Clare Higgins (407), and Mike Ostrowski (408).
The penultimate season’s directors are Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (401 & 402), Tricia Brock (403 & 404), Alex Garcia Lopez (405 & 406), and Jeremy Webb (407 & 408).
Steve Gaub, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Platige Films (Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko), Hivemind Content (Jason Brown and Sean Daniel) executive produce The Witcher.
