Tracker Renewed for Season 2 at CBS
The Justin Hartley-led freshman drama Tracker has been renewed for Season 2 on CBS.
The show’s sophomore season is expected to air in the network’s 2024/2025 primetime season.
This news comes the day after Tracker Season 1 Episode 4, “Mt. Shasta,” aired on CBS, meaning the series scored an early renewal.

Hartley stars as Colter Shaw, “a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family,” per its synopsis.
Tracker is based on Jeffrey Deaver’s bestselling novel The Never Game. CBS announced the show with that same title in December 2022 before changing it to Tracker in March 2023.
The show made its series debut on Sunday, February 11, 2024, following the Super Bowl LVIII. Tracker Season 1 Episode 1, “Klamath Falls,” amassed 18.4 million viewers, making it “the most-watched primetime entertainment program since the 2021 debut of The Equalizer also following the Super Bowl,” per CBS.
Along with this renewal news, CBS shared that Tracker‘s series premiere has now been watched by 30 million multiplatform viewers and is Paramount+’s #1 show for February. Furthermore, the series is averaging nearly 16 million multiplatform viewers.

So, Tracker‘s viewership has broken the record of the most-watched new show since Young Sheldon in 2017/2018 (16.49 million viewers) and the most-watched new drama since Empire in 2014/2015 (17.33 million viewers).
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going. We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams, and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week,” Reisenbach added.
Justin Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, and Ben Winters executive produce the series. Tracker airs on the CBS Television Network and is available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
