Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 Adds Jessica Capshaw as Guest Star
A little bit of sunshine is coming back to Grey Sloan Memorial!
Jessica Capshaw is set to reprise her role of Dr. Arizona Robbins as a guest star on Grey’s Anatomy Season 20.
ABC made the announcement at the Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour, sharing that Alex Landi, who played orthopedic surgeon Nico Kim, will also return as a guest star.

Variety reports that Capshaw will only appear in one episode of the long-running medical drama’s upcoming season.
Capshaw last appeared as the pediatric surgeon on Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 Episode 24, “All of Me,” when she and her daughter Sofia moved to New York City so Sofia could be with Callie, too. That episode aired in 2017.
She first debuted as Arizona Robbins in Grey’s Anatomy‘s fifth season in 2009.
Meanwhile, TV Line reports that ABC confirmed Landi’s return as a guest star because the actor teased his return on Instagram in January.

Landi made his debut as Dr. Nico Kim on Grey’s Anatomy Season 15 Episode 1, “With a Wonder and a Wild Desire,” in 2018.
His last appearance was on Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 18, “Stronger than Hate,” in 2022.
Capshaw and Landi join Dead to Me‘s Natalie Morales and When They See Us‘s Freddy Miyares, who will make their Grey’s Anatomy debuts during Season 20, which premieres on Thursday, March 14th at 9/8c on ABC.
Morales will play Monica Beltran, “a pediatric surgeon whose pragmatism and level-headedness have made her one of the best in her field,” per the character’s description.

Miyares will portray the recurring role of Dorian, “an intelligent, warm, and likable patient who is involved in a serious accident and is struggling with his future.”
There is no confirmation of when Capshaw, Landi, Morales, and Miyares will first appear on the show.
ABC renewed Grey’s Anatomy for Season 20 in March 2023, announcing that executive producer Meg Marinis will serve as showrunner.
Marinis takes over for Krista Vernoff, who stepped down from the medical drama and its spinoff Station 19 at the end of Season 19 and Season 6, respectively.
