Animal Control Renewed for Season 3 at FOX
Animal Control, the Joel McHale-led comedy, has been renewed for Season 3 at FOX.
Deadline exclusively reported the news. The renewal comes before FOX’s wholly-owned live-action comedy returns for its second season.
Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, Animal Control debuted in 2023 and became the network’s most-streamed debut ever. The show’s renewal was announced by Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment.

“Animal Control is an incredibly irreverent series that expresses everything viewers expect from a FOX comedy,” Thorn said.
“It has an amazing amount of momentum behind it, and we’ve been so impressed by the work Joel, Bob, Rob, Dan, Tad, Jake, and the entire cast are delivering for Season Two we wanted to reward them with the opportunity to deliver even more of this special show to fans next season,” Thorn added.
Animal Control centers on “a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not,” per its synopsis.
McHale stars as Frank, an opinionated former cop with a better understanding of animals than other humans.

The workplace comedy also stars Michael Rowland as Fred “Shred” Taylor, Vella Lovell as Emily Price, Ravi Patel as Amit Patel, Grace Palmer as Victoria Sands, and Gerry Dee recurs as Templeton Dudge.
Animal Control Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, March 6, at 9/8c on FOX, following the season premiere of The Masked Singer.
As previously reported, the network renewed the series for its second season in May 2023.
When the show returns, it will feature Ken Jeong & Sarah Chalke as guest stars and Krystal Smtih in a recurring role. Jeong joins as “expert (and unhinged) dog trainer Roman Park,” and Chalke will play Yazmin, “a love interest from Frank’s past.”

Meanwhile, Smith will portray “Bettany, Emily’s tenacious, tough, sometimes frightening assistant.”
FOX Entertainment Studios produces Animal Control. Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, Tad Quill, Jake Fuller, and Joel McHale executive produce the series, with Tad Quill serving as showrunner.
The series distributed by FOX Entertainment Global has been sold in the U.K. to Channel 4, as well as Foxtel’s FOX8 in Australia, CBC and CBC Gem in Canada, and TVNZ in New Zealand.
