Animal Control Adds Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith for Season 2

Animal Control is gaining three new cast members for its sophomore season on FOX.

Deadline exclusively reported that Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith are joining the comedy in guest starring roles.

Jeong’s appearance on Animal Control marks a Community reunion with Joel McHale, ScreenRant confirms.

Jeong will play Lee Park, “a well-respected, moderately unhinged dog whisperer.”

Meanwhile, Chalke will appear as Yazmin, Frank’s “one who got away,” and Smith’s recurring guest role will be as Bettany, “Emily’s tenacious and tough new assistant.”

Animal Control Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 9/8c on FOX.

The single-camera workplace comedy debuted with Animal Control Season 1 Episode 1, “Weasels and Ostriches,” on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Its debut season concluded with Animal Control Season 1 Episode 12, “Unicorns and Mountain Lions,” on May 4, 2023.

As previously reported, FOX renewed the freshman comedy a few days after the season finale.

“We are thrilled our viewers have responded to Animal Control as much as we did,” Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment, said about the show’s renewal.

“The incredibly talented ensemble cast, led by Joel McHale, along with our creative team, Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, and Tad Quill – not to mention a menagerie of wild animal method actors — have delivered a hilarious series that is sharp, witty, and warm, week after week,” Thorn added.

The show “follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not,” per its synopsis.

Animal Control stars Joel McHale as Frank Shaw, Michael Rowland as Fred “Shred” Taylor, Vella Lovell as Emily Price, Ravi Patel as Amit Patel, and Grace Palmer as Victoria Sands. 

FOX Entertainment Studios produces the series. Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, Tad Quill, and McHale executive produce Animal Control.

Animal Control Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 9/8c on FOX.
