Animal Control Renewed for Season 2 on FOX

Animal Control is coming back for more!

FOX renewed the freshman comedy for a second season, crediting it as its “most-streamed scripted debut ever and most-watched comedy series this season to date.”

The Joel McHale single-camera show premiered in February, with its season finale airing last Thursday. FOX shares that Animal Control “averages 4.7 million multi-platform viewers, a lift of +236% from Live + Same Day.”

Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment, announced the workplace’s comedy renewal. “We are thrilled our viewers have responded to Animal Control as much as we did,” Thorn said.

“The incredibly talented ensemble cast, led by Joel McHale, along with our creative team, Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, and Tad Quill – not to mention a menagerie of wild animal method actors — have delivered a hilarious series that is sharp, witty, and warm, week after week,” Thorn added.

Animal Control‘s renewal comes on the heels of Call Me Kat‘s cancelation after three seasons, as reported by Deadline, and Fantasy Island‘s cancelation after two seasons, as reported by TV Line.

Also, as previously reported, 9-1-1 will end its run on FOX with Season 6 before moving to ABC, and its spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star will return for Season 5 on FOX.

Per its synopsis, Animal Control is about “a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.”

Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling created the series that stars McHale as Frank, “an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room.”

Alongside McHale, Animal Control stars Michael Rowland as Fred “Shred” Taylor, Vella Lovell as Emily Price, Ravi Patel as Amit Patel, and Grace Palmer as Victoria Sands.

FOX Entertainment Studios produces Animal Control. Fisher, Greenberg, Sterling, Tad Quill, and McHale executive produce the series. Animal Control is distributed by FOX Entertainment Global.
