Wolf Pack Canceled by Paramount+ After One Season
Unfortunately, Wolf Pack won’t live to howl another season.
Paramount+ has canceled the supernatural teen drama after one season.
Deadline exclusively reported the news, sharing that the cancellation comes amid the streaming service “cutting costs, which also includes mass layoffs.”

The outlet revealed that Wolf Pack‘s creative team was working on a sophomore season despite never officially being renewed. Production on the potential Season 2 was slated to begin in February.
Instead, showrunner and executive producer Jeff Davis told the cast this week that Wolf Pack had been canceled.
The series, based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, debuted with Wolf Pack Season 1 Episode 1, “From a Spark to a Flame,” in January 2023.
It introduced two teens, Everett and Blake, “whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills,” per its synopsis.

Wounded with werewolf bites, the duo is drawn to Harlan and Luna, “who were adopted 16 years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire.” The full moon pulls all four teens together to uncover what or who connects them.
The show’s eight-episode season concluded with Wolf Pack Season 1 Episode 8, “Trophic Cascade,” in March 2023.
Since then, Wolf Pack‘s status on Paramount+ has been a question.
TV Line cites the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA‘s strikes against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for fair contracts as “the final nail in Wolf Pack‘s coffin.”
According to TV Line’s sources, “a potential second season would not have been ready for nearly two years after the conclusion of Season 1.”

However, that hardly seems to be the fault of the strikes when it is common for streaming shows to have significant hiatuses between seasons. For example, Stranger Things Season 3 debuted in 2019, with Season 4 not premiering until 2022.
Wolf Pack starred Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, Tyler Lawrence Gray, and Rodrigo Santoro. It also marked the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to the small screen — and a supernatural teen drama after her iconic run as the titular character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The show’s cast also included Bailey Stender, Chase Liefeld, Hollie Bahar, Lanny Joon, Rio Mangini, Stella Smith, Zack Nelson, James Martinez, Amy Pietz, Bria Brimmer, John L. Adams, and Sean Philip Glasgow.
In addition to Davis, Joe Genier, Mike Elliott, and Karen Gorodetzky executive produced the show for Capital Arts. Jason Ensler, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Christian Taylor also served as executive producers.
