Station 19 Season 7 Trailer: Andy Herrera (Finally!) Suits Up as Captain
Station 19 brings the heat in the trailer for its seventh and final season on ABC.
The minute-long teaser is more retrospective to the last six seasons, especially Station 19 Season 6 Episode 18, “Glamorous Life.”
Most of the previously aired footage centers on the events at the Firefighter’s Ball, including Jack passing out and Robert & Natasha choosing to be with one another. Most notably, though, the teaser trailer reminds everyone who is (finally!) the captain of Station 19 — Andy Herrera.
“Because of your undeniable hard work and dedication to this house, you are the new captain of Station 19,” Natasha told Andy in the Season 6 finale.
Now, Station 19 Season 7 will see Andy fill the role — and receive some advice from its only other female captain, Maya DeLuca-Bishop.
There aren’t many new clips in this trailer. For instance, the only scenes featuring Maya and Carina are from their steamy shower in the Season 6 finale. However, the new one featuring Andy and Maya will surely be one to watch when Station 19 airs it in its entirety. It’s undoubtedly the sticking point for this trailer.
“It’s not enough to be strong. You have to be tough,” Maya tells Andy before Andy says, “I’m going to be the best damn captain this station’s ever seen.”
The implications of that dialogue are more than enough to anticipate the larger scene and potentially more like it throughout the season. Will Andy and Maya lean on each other more? Either way, the scene’s setting being a room at Grey Sloan Memorial raises far too many stressful questions. Mainly, is Jack okay?!
ABC renewed the firefighting spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy for Season 7 in April 2023. By December, news broke that the upcoming season would be the last.
As previously reported, Station 19 Season 7 premieres on Thursday, March 14, at 10/9c on ABC, following Grey’s Anatomy‘s Season 20 premiere.
Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige are taking over as showrunners and executive producers for Season 7, following Krista Vernoff’s exit after Season 6.
