Station 19 to End with Season 7 on ABC

Another Grey’s Anatomy spinoff is ending. Station 19 will come to an end with its upcoming seventh season on ABC.

Deadline exclusively reported the news, detailing that “the decision, [made] early in production on the season, would allow producers to craft a proper ending for the first responder drama.”

The 10-episode final season will see Station 19 hit the TV landmark of 100 episodes.

As previously reported, Station 19‘s seventh and now final season will premiere on Thursday, March 14, at 10/9c on ABC.

When Station 19 returns, it will be in a new timeslot. 9-1-1, which aired its first six seasons on Fox, will air Season 7 on Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC, beginning on March 14.

It concluded its sixth season with Station 19 Season 6 Episode 18, “Glamorous Life,” in May 2023.

“For seven seasons, Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters, and compelling storytelling,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich said in a statement, per TV Line.

“With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode,” Erwich added.

ABC renewed the drama for Season 7 during its sixth season, announcing that Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige will serve as showrunners and executive producers in the new season. Clack and Paige have been producers on Station 19 in the past.

Stacy McKee, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Paris Barclay also serve as executive producers. ABC Signature, part of Disney TV Studios, and Shondaland, produces Station 19.

The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff series debuted in March 2018 and has featured multiple crossovers with the flagship series.

Like Private Practice, which only aired for six seasons, Station 19 won’t outlive the medical drama that will premiere its landmark twentieth season in 2024.

The firefighting drama stars Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Jay Hayden, Danielle Savre, Boris Kodjoe, Stefania Spampinato, Carlos Miranda, Josh Randall, and Merle Dandridge.
