Reacher Season 3 Source Material Revealed by Prime Video
The wait is over! Prime Video revealed that Reacher Season 3 will be based on Persuader, the 7th book in the Jack Reacher series written by Lee Child.
Alan Ritchson, the show’s star, announced the source material on Instagram.
Ritchson expressed excitement about the book and its setting, specifically the lobsters from Maine. “Persuader is one of the best books there is,” Ritchson said.
Though readers of Child’s books will know what’s coming in Season 3, all Prime Video has revealed is that “Reacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.”
Additionally, Maria Sten will join Ritchson to reprise her role of Frances Neagley in Reacher‘s third season, which is currently filming in Toronto.
Two weeks before its second season premiered, Prime Video renewed the well-performing series for Season 3. The announcement was made at the Prime Video Panel at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil.
Reacher Season 2 made a three-episode premiere on December 22, 2023. Prime Video shares that Reacher‘s “global audience grew 50% between seasons in the first three days after the second season’s debut.”
The eight-episode sophomore season concluded with Reacher Season 2 Episode 8, “Fly Boy,” last week.
Reacher debuted with an eight-episode season in February 2022, scoring a Season 2 renewal from Prime Video three days later. At that time, the streamer credited the series as being “among Prime Video’s highest-rated Original series ever among Prime customers, averaging 4.7 out of 5 stars” in its first weekend.
Lee Child executive produces the series written for television by showrunner and executive producer Nick Santora. Ritchson will serve as an executive producer of Reacher Season 3. Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance also executive produce the show.
Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and Paramount Television Studios produce Reacher. The executives-in-charge of the series for Skydance Television are Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid.
