The trailer for The Crown Season 6 Part 1 is here.

Those first four episodes of the award-winning drama’s final season premiere on Thursday, November 16, on Netflix. The Crown Season 6 Part 2, consisting of the show’s last six episodes, stream on Thursday, December 14.

TV Line reports that the two-minute trailer focuses entirely on Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana. Netflix confirmed that the show’s final season will span from 1997 to 2005 in Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The Crown Season 6 Part 1 follows the blossoming relationship “between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences,” per its official synopsis.

Other than Debicki, the returning cast includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles.

Bertie Carvel takes on the role of Tony Blair, with Salim Daw as Mohamed al-Fayed and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.

The trailer shows glimpses of Debicki and Abdalla in their respective roles, primarily spotlighting the incessant paparazzi that follow Diana and Dodi everywhere in those final weeks, including the tragic night of August 31, 1997.

“It’s a really unique challenge as an actor to portray those days,” Debicki told Netflix, per TUDUM, about The Crown Season 6.

The Crown Season 6 Episode 1 is written by Alex Gabassi, with director Christian Schwochow helming Episodes 2, 3, and 4. Schwochow calls that narrative arc “a three-part tragedy,” per Netflix’s TUDUM. 

The Crown trailer also teases Diana’s historic trip to Africa when she walked on landmines, as well as her relationship with her sons. Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards will portray Princes William and Harry in Season 6 Part 1.

Set to a cover of Tears for Fears’s “Mad World,” the Season 6 Part 1 trailer also sees the dynamic between Diana and Queen Elizabeth II shift. Elizabeth says, “You’ve finally succeeded in turning this house upside down. It’s nothing less than revolution.” To which Diana responds, “That was never my intention.”
