A First Look at ‘The Crown’ Season 6 — Part 1
The countdown to the final season of The Crown is on.
TV Line reports that Netflix has released first-look images of The Crown Season 6 — Part 1. Those first four episodes will stream on Thursday, November 16, on Netflix, with the final six episodes dropping on December 16.
The Crown Season 6 — Part 1 will follow the relationship that “blossoms between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences,” per its official synopsis.
Netflix’s TUDUM released portions of interviews (conducted in April 2023, prior to SAG-AFTRA’s ongoing strike) that reflected on the cast’s journeys with their characters through this final season while teasing The Crown Season 6 — Part 1.
Those conversations were with Elizabeth Debicki on Diana, Princess of Wales, Khalid Abdalla on Dodi Fayed, Salim Daw on Mohamed al-Fayed, Dominic West on Prince Charles, and Imelda Staunton on Queen Elizabeth II.
“For me, in terms of an overarching journey, one of the things that felt so important –– because we know where the story is going –– is to make sure that there was real joy and happiness and lightness and genuine fun on the screen,” Elizabeth Debicki said about her intentions for Diana’s story this season.
West spoke about how he approached the role of Prince Charles and said “What’s great about The Crown is that you see these public figures in private.”
Staunton knew The Crown‘s final season “did carry a lot of weight” and shared “There’s more dynamics going on, probably, between the queen and Charles [in Season 6], but the importance of [Prince] Philip in her life is undeniable.”
The Crown Season 6 — Part 1 will also introduce Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards as Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively.
