Quantum Leap Season 2 Adds Eliza Taylor and Peter Gadiot as Series Regulars
Quantum Leap‘s ensemble will have two new members when the show returns for Season 2 in October.
Variety exclusively reports that Eliza Taylor (The 100) and Peter Gadiot (Queen of the South) will join the time-traveling drama when it returns on Wednesday, October 4, at 9/8c on NBC.
Set 30 years after the original series starring Scott Bakula, Quantum Leap follows physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee) when he “makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it,” per the series description.
Eliza Taylor’s character, Hannah Carson, will be introduced on Quantum Leap Season 2 Episode 3. Hannah is described as “a complex young woman who may be more than she appears,” per TV Line.
Peter Gadiot will play a U.S. Army Officer, former special forces, currently high up in Army Intelligence, named Tom Westfall. Variety’s report reveals that Tom is “thoughtful, centered, a spiritual kind of warrior who both men and women admire, but whose humility keeps him from ever being arrogant.”
Gadiot’s character is set to have a crucial role overseeing the Quantum Leap project in the show’s sophomore season.
As previously reported, NBC renewed Quantum Leap for Season 2 in December 2022.
“We’re leaping into a second season thanks to the incredible work by our cast, producers, writers, and everyone who has played a role in giving this iconic NBC series a new life,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television, and Streaming, said in December 2022.
“As we continue to bring audiences to our must-watch dramas, it’s gratifying to know Quantum Leap will have a prominent place next season both on our NBC schedule and next day on Peacock,” Katz added.
TV Line reported in July 2023 that Quantum Leap‘s Season 2 premiere will feature guest stars Melissa Roxburgh, Francois Arnaud, Aaron Abrams, and P.J. Byrne. Alongside Lee, the series stars Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee.
