Quantum Leap Renewed for Season 2 by NBC
The time-traveling journey isn’t over yet for Ben Song and his team!
Quantum Leap, starring Raymond Lee, Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee, has been renewed for Season 2 by NBC.
The new NBC series takes place nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished on the TV show with the same name, starring Scott Bakula as Sam, which aired from 1989 to 1993.

Per the logline, Quantum Leap introduces a new team led by physicist Ben Song. They are tasked with restarting “the project in the hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”
Everything changes for Ben when he “makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it.”
During his travels, Addison is “a decorated Army veteran who brings level-headed precision to her job” and “appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.”
Ernie Hudson stars as Herbert “Magic” Williams, who is “at the helm of the highly confidential operation.” Ian Wright runs the AI unit called “Ziggy,” and Jenn Chou leads the project’s digital security.

The team quickly learns that following Ben’s leaps and solving their mystery entails “a thrilling journey,” but bringing him home means “they must act fast or lose him forever.”
Per NBC, Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 1, “July 13, 1985,” which debuted in September, “is currently up to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 10.8 million viewers across linear, digital, and streaming platforms.”
The network credits Quantum Leap as “NBC’s best-ever drama launch on Peacock and is the #2 new broadcast show of the season in the 18-49 demo.”
In October, NBC ordered six additional episodes for its debut season, bringing Season 1 to a total of 19 episodes.

Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming released a statement about Quantum Leap‘s Season 2 renewal, sharing, “We’re leaping into a second season thanks to the incredible work by our cast, producers, writers, and everyone who has played a role in giving this iconic NBC series a new life.”
“As we continue to bring audiences to our must-watch dramas, it’s gratifying to know Quantum Leap will have a prominent place next season both on our NBC schedule and next day on Peacock,” Katz added.
Martin Gero serves as executive producer along with Dean Georgaris, Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, Steven Lilien, and Bryan Wynbrandt.
Quantum Leap comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. It’s produced in association with I Have an Idea! Entertainment, Belisarius Productions, and Quinn’s House Productions.
