How I Met Your Father Canceled After Two Seasons at Hulu
Hulu won’t reveal who the father of Sophie’s son is on How I Met Your Father.
The streaming service canceled the show within the How I Met Your Mother universe after two seasons, per TV Line.
The comedy series debuted with a two-episode premiere to its 10-episode first season in January 2022. Its second and now final season, which premiered in January, concluded with a two-episode finale in July 2023.

The show finds Sophie (Kim Cattrall) in the near future telling her son the story of how she met his father. In the present, Hilary Duff portrays Sophie alongside her close-knit group of friends as they figure out who they are and who they love.
How I Met Your Father also stars Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma.
Recurring stars include Daniel Augustin, Ashley Reyes, and Josh Peck.
The Hulu series scored an early Season 2 renewal amid its first season, with Hulu upping the sophomore season to a 20-episode order.

Since its debut, How I Met Your Father has welcomed multiple How I Met Your Mother stars, including Cobie Smulders in Season 1 and Neil Patrick Harris in Season 2.
How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 20, “Okay, It’s a Hurricane,” doesn’t reveal who Sophie’s son’s father is, but it does see Sophie and Jesse rekindle their relationship while Sid’s marriage ends.
Per Variety, that season finale is the 30th episode to the show’s name, and now it will serve as its series finale.
Created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, Aptaker, Berger, Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Pam Fryman, and Adam Londy executive produce How I Met Your Father. Duff serves as a producer. The show is a production of 20th Television.
