‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Lands Special Airings on CBS for ‘Star Trek’ Day
Are you ready for the fourth annual Star Trek Day on Friday, September 8?
Among other out-of-this-world perks and a global celebration hosted by Jerry O’Connell, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, whose original home is Paramount+, will land on CBS with special airings of its first two episodes.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 Episode 1, “Strange New Worlds,” and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 Episode 2, “Children of the Comet,” will broadcast back-to-back, beginning at 8/7c.

“Strange New Worlds” Description: When one of Pike’s officers goes missing while on a secret mission for Starfleet, Pike has to come out of self-imposed exile. He must navigate how to rescue his officer while struggling with what to do with the vision of the future he’s been given.

Additionally, “Star Trek: The Animated Celebration” will bring Star Trek: Lower Decks screenings to multiple cities across the U.S., the UK, and Canada ahead of its Season 4 premiere. The date of Star Trek Day commemorates the dawn of the universe’s animated branch 50 years ago.
To celebrate the occasion, Star Trek Day will host “an evening of cartoon comedy, including four specially selected episodes of the hit animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. Fans can attend these exclusive, free promotional screenings and experience the brand-new season of Star Trek: Lower Decks on the big screen.”
Per Paramount+, the CBS Television Network, and CBS Studios, fans can register at Star Trek Animated Celebration Screenings on Thursday, August 24, at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET.
The Star Trek: Lower Decks screenings will occur in Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Calgary, and London.

Star Trek: Lower Decks‘ Commander Jack Ransom himself, Jerry O’Connell, hosts the unique program that will celebrate Star Trek‘s animation, honor Star Trek: Discovery, and tease Star Trek: Lower Decks‘ fourth season. All the while, Star Trek Day will examine the ever-growing franchise’s legacy.
Star Trek Day’s origin story blasts back to September 8, 1966, when Star Trek made its TV debut with “The Man Trap.”
Creator Gene Roddenberry “introduced audiences to a world that championed diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and hope. Fifty-seven years later, Paramount honors this important day and the franchise’s enduring legacy by providing fans with memorable ways to enjoy and celebrate all things Star Trek.”
The global celebration will be available to watch for free on StarTrek.com/Day, YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. In the U.S., the special will stream on Paramount+, Pluto TV, and Mixable and air on select local CBS affiliates, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Pop TV, Fave TV, and Smithsonian.com.
