Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has received an early Season 3 renewal ahead of its Season 2 premiere this summer.
Additionally, Paramount+ renewed Star Trek: Lower Decks for a 10-episode fifth season.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, June 15, on Paramount+ in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. New episodes of the 10-episode season will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays.

Paramount+ shares that the season’s premiere date on the streaming service in Korea will be announced at a later date.
Meanwhile, Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 will premiere in the late summer in the U.S., but the exact date for the original animated comedy series’ season has yet to be announced.
Also, Star Trek fans can anticipate the animated kids’ series Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2 in the winter. As Paramount+ previously announced, Star Trek: Discovery‘s fifth and final season will premiere in early 2024.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 will include the previously announced special crossover episode featuring live-action and animation.

The crossover between Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks was announced last July at the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ Anson Mount revealed the news with Star Trek: Lower Decks‘ Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid.
The crossover will see Newsome’s Ensign Beckett Mariner and Quaid’s Ensign Brad Boimler joining the U.S.S. Enterprise. The episode will be directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard‘s actor and director, Jonathan Frakes.
Per Paramount+, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds “is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise.”

The series stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock, following the characters “in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.”
It also stars Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 will see the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk while welcoming a new addition of Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.
CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment produced the upcoming season. Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners. Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, Alonso Myers, Aaron Baiers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth executive produce.
