Superman & Lois Season 4 Loses Seven Series Regulars in a Major Casting Shake-Up
Superman & Lois will look very different when it returns to The CW next season because seven series regulars have been cut ahead of Season 4.
TV Line reports that the departing series regulars are Dylan Walsh, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Wolé Parks, Tayler Buck, and Sofia Hasmik.
Walsh, Parks, Chriqui, Valdez, and Navarrette have been a part of the show since the series premiere, Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot.”

Per Deadline, “The hope is for the septet to guest star/recur next season, reprising their roles, subject to interest on their part and availability.” The same report cites that this casting shake-up comes amid budget cuts.
That leaves only four returning series regulars: Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, and Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent. Michael Cudlitz, who appears in a guest star role as Lex Luthor this season, has been promoted to a series regular for Season 4.
Deadline’s report also states, “Warner Bros. Television, which produces Superman & Lois with studio-based Berlanti Productions, declined comment.”
Michael Cudlitz is set to debut on the series when it returns with Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 12, “Injustice,” on Tuesday, June 20, at 8/7c on The CW.

As previously reported in January, Cudlitz’s casting as the iconic DC character was announced ahead of Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 1, “Closer.”
Along with All American: Homecoming‘s Season 3 renewal, the news about Superman & Lois‘ Season 4 came earlier this week, announcing a shortened, 10-episode order.
“We are thrilled to bring All American: Homecoming and Superman & Lois back to The CW,” Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW Network, commented at the time.
“These series are two of our strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms with some of the most passionate fanbases in all of television. We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.”

Even with that long-awaited renewal, the superhero drama only has two episodes left, with most of its ensemble as series regulars.
Walsh plays General Sam Lane. Chriqui portrays Lana Lane Cushing, with Valdez as Kyle Cushing and Navarrette as Sarah Cushing. Parks portrays John Henry Irons, and Buck plays Natalie Irons. Hasmik plays the role of Chrissy Beppo.
The current and third season ends with Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 13, “What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger,” on Tuesday, June 27.
