The Rookie Renewed for Season 6 at ABC
Get ready to celebrate 100 episodes with The Rookie!
Per Deadline, the police procedural has been renewed for Season 6 on ABC, which cites The Rookie as being “in the Top 5 of ABC’s most viewed scripted series.”
The Nathan Fillion-led show airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c, leading into its spin-off series, The Rookie: Feds, which airs at 9/8c.

The flagship series kicked off the new year by moving from Sundays to Tuesdays with The Rookie Season 5 Episode 10, “The List,” to better lead into the spin-off, starting with The Rookie: Feds Season 1 Episode 10, “The Silent Prisoner.”
As TV Line reports, “ABC, meanwhile, notes that since moving from the Sunday closer role to the Tuesday leadoff spot this past January, The Rookie has improved its time slot over the comparable weeks last season by 40% in total viewers and 17% among Adults 18-49.”
There is still no news on whether the flagship show’s Niecy Nash-led spin-off, The Rookie: Feds, will return for a second season.
The show’s shared Tuesday night block has contributed to multiple crossovers in their respective seasons, including the Feds working to save The Rookie‘s Wesley Evers and other innocent bystanders on The Rookie: Feds Season 1 Episode 8, “Standoff.”

After a short hiatus, TV Line also has an exclusive look at The Rookie Season 5 Episode 20, “S.T.R.,” where Tim Bradford’s ex-wife Isabel “returns to ask the team to help her save someone from her undercover past.”
“S.T.R” is one of the season’s remaining episodes, with The Rookie Season 5 Episode 22, “Under Seige,” to be the season finale.
Per the episode’s synopsis, “After one of their own is shot, the team suffers a series of close calls and realizes their division may be a target for a group of masked assailants.”
The Rookie‘s Season 5 finale is set to air on Tuesday, May 2, at 8/7c on ABC.
