Lance Reddick, Actor from ‘The Wire,’ ‘Fringe,’ and ‘Bosch,’ Dies at 60
Prolific actor Lance Reddick has sadly passed away at the age of 60.
According to Deadline, the actor’s rep at Portrait PR confirmed that Reddick passed away Friday, March 17, from natural causes. Any further specificity hasn’t been released at the time of reporting.
Many know Reddick from his career of TV hits such as The Wire, Fringe, Bosch, and Oz.

Most recently, he has been seen in the John Wick film series as the ever-reliable Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel. Deadline also reports that he’d been doing press for the film’s fourth installment this week – due to come out next week.
Variety adds that Reddick got his first big break when he was cast in HBO’s Oz as Detective Johnny Basil in the popular series’ fourth season. From there, his career took off with such roles as Baltimore police lieutenant Cedric Daniels on The Wire.
Branching away from HBO productions, Reddick took on the role of Special Agent Phillip Broyles on Fringe. He stayed in part for most of the series, making him even more notable in the process.
Then in 2014, he was cast as yet another officer of the law — this time as police chief for Amazon’s Bosch. The show ran from 2014 to 2021 and starred Titus Welliver alongside Reddick. The actor also starred in a season of Comedy Central’s Corporate.

Most recently, Reddick starred in the Netflix series Resident Evil as Albert Wesker. Unfortunately, the series – based on the popular video game of the same name – was canceled after one season.
Perhaps more commonly known, Reddick also lent his voice to many voice-acting projects. He can be heard on The Legend of Vox Machina, Rick and Morty, Castlevania, and Duck Tales.
Lance Reddick has many projects that were still in the works or slotted to be released soon. He was recently cast as Zeus in the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
His other upcoming roles include Hulu’s White Men Can’t Jump remake (premiering May 19), Danny DeVito’s St. Sebastian, Netflix’s Shirley Chisholm biopic Shirley, and Showtime’s The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.
