The Resident Season 6 Episode 11 Review: All In
The Resident Season 6 Episode 11, “All In,” comes back from hiatus with chaos taking over Chastain in a manner only the show knows how to deliver.
Each case touches the doctors’ personal lives, allowing the audience to care for these characters more and more with every passing episode.
Even though the end of The Resident Season 6 is near, there are still plenty of loose ends to tie. That is probably why survival mode kicks in, and everyone is ready to fight.
Dr. Yamada and Dr. Perry

Dr. Yamada came into the show as another piece in the Billie/Conrad puzzle, and we didn’t expect to like him as much as we did.
During “All In,” we get to see a different side of him — one that makes us wish there were more episodes in his storyline.
As he faces his mentor, Dr. Perry, the theme of survival fits perfectly into the plotline. Perry is ready to die, but Yamada doesn’t want to let go of the man who taught him everything he knows.
The scenes between these doctors allow us to understand who Yamada is and appreciate him more as a doctor. It also helps that he behaves like a class act after he finds out about Billie and Conrad. He accepts his fate and never shows any hate towards either of them.

But the best part of this case is how The Resident plays with the camera and the storyline.
When The Raptor is performing surgery, the camera focuses on the clock on the wall. The passing of time is marked by an immediate change of the ticking minutes and Yamada taking off his coat. This is done perfectly and showcases how tense the room should feel.
Throughout the episode, Perry tells the doctors about his symptoms and diagnosis, making it easier for the audience to understand.
The same is done before he passes away, but with a room full of the doctors he taught throughout his career — an homage to how important he was to the medical community.
Cade and Billie

When it comes to surviving, Cade says it herself: “I will survive.” For her, surviving refers to the love and the relationship she just lost. Like Yamada, she is a class act and chooses to respect Conrad and Billie while honoring her feelings.
“All In” seems rushed regarding Conrad and Billie’s newfound relationship. Like every doctor at Chastain, we see it coming and know what was happening between them.
However, it has taken Conrad nearly a season to come to terms with his feelings. Has he suddenly forgotten about his hesitation because of Nic?
This episode presents them as a couple that isn’t afraid to hold hands in the hospital elevator and make it evident that they are finally together. But, of course, we expect this from Billie but never from Conrad.

The speed of the relationship may not fit the general timeline of The Resident, but it fits Billie’s storyline.
After going through a traumatic event at Chastain, she is afraid to go back to work and second-guesses everything she does — except being with Conrad.
We finally see a happy and satisfied Billie after having fought her feelings for the longest time. Luckily, this reflects in her professional life at the OR when she can quickly resolve a situation with the patient.
Kit, who has always been a Billie fan and believer, encourages this, and Billie realizes that she, too, can survive.
Padma and Her Diagnosis

Season 6 has prepared us to deal with Padma’s post-partum depression. The ending of The Resident Season 6 Episode 10, “Family Day,” made it clear that she needed help.
“All In” finally names Padma’s struggle and allows her to get the help she deserves. However, my hesitation as a viewer on how they will handle the case from here on out comes from AJ’s reaction.
The Raptor immediately mentions he doesn’t feel comfortable with Padma being around the twins in case she puts them in danger. Doesn’t this push forward the stigma around post-partum depression?
As a medical drama, we expect The Resident to handle these cases with care and respect, but the show immediately judges Padma for her struggle.
Hopefully, this will be handled better moving forward, and they will do this storyline justice.
Chastain: The Main Character

Season 6 has all been about Chastain surviving budget cuts and the fight against the governor. Unfortunately, “All In” makes us feel like Kit Voss (the strongest soldier) is about to give up and let evil win.
However, Conrad — smart as always — pulls one of his moves to guarantee Voss won’t give up on what she has fought so hard to save. A patient’s resilience and sassy attitude remind Kit why you never give up on the willpower of a bully.
Instead of letting Chastain’s Level 1 Trauma be shut down, she brings pizza (or salads for vegans because she refuses to accept vegan cheese) and motivates her team to keep fighting. She is the kind of leader Chastain deserves!
With this season ending soon, we wonder what will happen to Chastain, the doctors in it, and the fight with the governor.

A medical tv show, that promotes eating meat and cheese made out of animal milk but “will not condone vegan cheese”. The stupidity never ends
