Daisy Jones & The Six First-Look Images and Premiere Date Released by Prime Video
Get ready to rock out with Daisy Jones & The Six!
The limited series premieres on Prime Video on Friday, March 3, with new episodes rolling out weekly every Friday. The finale will stream on March 24.
Daisy Jones & The Six is based on the best-selling novel with the same title from Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Coincidentally, the book was originally published on March 5, 2019. So, the Prime Video series will debut nearly four years after the popular book hit shelves.
The streaming service notes that Daisy Jones & The Six will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Daisy Jones & The Six is a limited musical-drama series that details “the rise and precipitous fall of a renowned rock band.”
Per the show’s logline, “In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers—Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne—the band had risen from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits.”
“Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth. This is the story of how an iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.” The premiere date announcement video is the first footage of Daisy Jones & The Six taking the stage.
It also teases the dynamic between Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne that fans of Reid’s book will know all too well.
Daisy Jones & The Six stars Riley Keough as Daisy Jones, Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rhodes, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price.
Timothy Olyphant makes a special guest appearance as Rod Reyes.
Vanity Fair, who exclusively reported the first-look images, shared, “The players also portray their aged-up characters in documentary-style shots set 20 years after the band’s heyday.”
Daisy Jones & The Six comes from Amazon Studios and Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hellow Sunshine. Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce the project for Hello Sunshine and Brad Mendelsohn for Circle of Confusion.
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber created the series, and Taylor Jenkins Reid is a producer on the project. Neustadter executive produces and co-showruns with Will Graham, who also serves as an executive producer.
James Ponsoldt directed the first five episodes and serves as an executive producer, Nzingha Stewart directed four of the remaining episodes, and Graham directed one.
Daisy Jones & The Six isn’t the only book-to-screen adaptation Taylor Jenkins Reid has in the works.
In March, the news broke that Liz Tigelaar would write the script for a Netflix film adaptation of Reid’s best-selling novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
While there haven’t been updates on that project, Prime Video gives plenty of details for fans to anticipate when Daisy Jones & The Six premieres in March.
