Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 5, “Yep, This Is The World We Live In,” is already dialing up the chaos with the season just getting started.
The train derailment isn’t a one-episode chaotic event. There’s still a lot to clean up. Is the Gaffney family up to the challenge? Plus, April is coming back, and not a moment too soon!

Crockett’s arm is still in a sling, and he’ll already have to make massive decisions to save patients’ lives. He’ll look good doing it, but still. He’s already doing too much.
Not to mention, these medical shortages aren’t playing around. Vanessa just got herself and Will into a sticky situation. Already, things are coming back around in the most chaotic way.
This story is coming to a head pretty rapidly. This may be more intense than anything Will has dealt with so far, and he’s dealt with plenty.
Chicago Med isn’t letting anyone take a breather. So close to the beginning of the season, it’s clear the chaotic tone will continue throughout. It might be a bumpy ride.

Episode Description: The effects of the supply chain shortages continue to impact the E.D. when Vanessa’s drug dealer reappears. One of the victims of the recent train crash needs a transplant, forcing Crockett to improvise. Charles and Nellie help a patient with amnesia.
