Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 7 Review: Double Down

Chicago Med, Reviews

If there is one thing we must disagree on with Ripley on Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 7, “Double Down,” it is the fact that he misses the old Lenox. This version of Lenox is human, passionate, and a badass.

This version of Lenox acts before thinking, but always for the greater good. This version of Lenox will save a patient’s heart even if it means burning her hands.

This version of Lenox will show up at a woman’s house on the hunch that she is hurt. This version of Lenox will have us on the edge of our seats until January.

While it’s understandable that her spontaneity isn’t something med students should learn, it is what has given Lenox the life her character lacked in the beginning. And this will hopefully never end.

But if Ripley misses Lenox 1.0 so much, he can turn his head and look at Naomi. It seems the mentoring wasn’t only medical, but also personal.

Naomi’s explanation of her feelings to Frost sounds a lot like something Lenox would have said in the beginning. However, she adds a bit of Asher to her persona and takes a chance at telling him what she is feeling.

While it might not pay off the way she expects, this bold move might change how Naomi carries herself moving forward. Truthfully, it would be interesting for Chicago Med to dig deeper into her character.

But we can’t deny that Novak and Frost’s interactions are priceless. There is a joy and childlike excitement to their meets that makes viewers feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The moment she writes “911” on his arm when he asks for her number is an absolute gem on an episode that is otherwise very emotional.

Asher and Archer’s relationship has been severely marked by Sean, so it was time he found out about the baby. His reaction is a heartwarming moment between father and son.

After all the struggles they’ve gone through, it is nice to see Sean and Dean share such a strong bond. His approval is probably something Dean was looking for without necessarily voicing it.

And while everything is sunshine and rainbows between them, the same might not be the case for Dasher shippers. Is Kingston making a move on Archer?

What are the chances that Archer finds himself in a relationship while Hannah is pregnant?

There is definitely something going on with Charles that Chicago Med will hopefully dive into. We see him take pills before his shift starts, talk about insomnia with Asher, and doubt his own gut feeling when it comes to Theo.

While Theo and Charles’s back and forth and not seeing eye-to-eye is the center of the episode, Kacy is the one to steal the show. Her commentary and funny remarks have been a great addition to the show.

Even though it might just be like she’s spreading rumors, she brings a vision that’s quite similar to that of the audience.

It is important to have those slight moments of fun and joy before we end the first half of the season on a stressful note. Now, viewers will spend the hiatus worrying about Lenox.
