House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 6, “The Princess and the Queen,” brings forth a brand new set of actors as the series makes another time jump.
Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy make their debut on House of the Dragon as Emily Carey and Milly Alcock depart from the series. Carey and Alcock have set the bar pretty high with their portrayals of Alicent and Rhaenyra.
However, after watching the promo video attached below, there’s no doubt Cooke and D’Arcy will live up to the expectations. The tension in the air between the two is thick enough to cut with a knife, leaving anticipation for what’s to come.

In addition to the decade-and-a-half time jump, we’re getting a sleuth of new cast members and new drama. Based on the promo, Rhaenyra has three bastard children with Sir Harwin Strong, and Alicent has officially taken on the role of grooming Aegon to be king.
With the new dynamic at play, it’ll be interesting to see where the story goes from here and how they explain newfound relationships. Rhaenyra and Harwin Strong is a perfect example. While fans of the book series may know about their inevitable relationship, not all viewers have that same knowledge.
We can only hope there’s enough time dedicated within the episode to provide a backstory for the missed time.
