Preview — Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 9: Wild Wild West
Michael Trevino makes his directorial debut on Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 9, “Wild Wild West,” an episode tackling Liz’s fever dream as she suffers from exposure to her “alien-power mist.”
As Liz fights to save herself and Max, I hope this mindscape allows the two to work on their relationship, which is suffering from poor communication and decisions.
Elsewhere, Michael learns a secret Rosa is keeping about a former adversary. This group has many enemies, so it is hard to guess who this could be.
Tezca is technically a former adversary now, but it could be Flint Manes, Wyatt Long, and a few other options. I want a Flint Manes redemption moment, so I would love to see him again.
While it seems like an odd time to dive into a mindscape episode with the group locating Alex’s position on Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 8, “Missing My Baby,” I think this is a great choice to slow down the real-life timing for the characters.
They need a strategic plan for saving Alex, but they also have to deal with Liz’s scary predicament on the same night, which will inevitably lead to some self-realizations about her recent behavior. She needs to come out of this mindscape with a new perspective moving forward.
This narrative choice also sticks to the breakneck pace of this season, which spans approximately one week so far.
