A New Wicked ‘Wednesday’ Teaser Trailer Released by Netflix
The Addams Family is returning to the small screen this fall in a new series for Netflix — Wednesday. Its latest teaser trailer will have you snapping your fingers!
The series, debuting this fall on the streaming service and starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role, follows Wednesday Addams’ journey at Nevermore Academy.

During her time at the school, Wednesday will attempt “to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.”
Wednesday‘s teaser trailer creates the foundation for Wednesday’s admission to Nevermore Academy, with a checkered past of 8 schools in 5 years.
The series, described as a “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery,” leaves nothing to the imagination about how far Wednesday will go to protect her brother Pugsley Addams (played by Issac Ordonez) from a-typical high school bullies.

Ortega’s role in the horror scene only expands with her role on Wednesday, as she’s acquired quite the resume with projects like You, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, and Scream.
The rest of the Addams Family is featured in the teaser trailer as well, giving glimpses of Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing.
The Tim Burton project’s trailer also introduces Emma Myers as Enid, “Wednesday’s opposites-attract roommate” at Nevermore, as reported by Netflix’s Tudum.

According to TV Line, Wednesday also stars George Burcea as Lurch and The Sandman‘s Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, “the principal of Nevermore Academy who still has an axe to grind with former classmate Morticia.”
One cast member left to be a surprise for another trailer or even the show itself is Christian Ricci, who is returning to the franchise after playing Wednesday in 1991’s The Addams Family and its sequel Addams Family Values.
Deadline exclusively reported Ricci’s casting in an unconfirmed role on the series back in March. Then, Nellie Andreeva of Deadline could confirm “that she plays a new character and not an older version of Wednesday.”

While there is no premiere date for Wednesday yet, Netlfix’s assurance that it will debut this fall sets the show at the perfect time. The films in which Ricci starred are always a part of Freeform’s 31 Days of Halloween marathons.
Now, thanks to Wednesday, there will be more Addams Family content to enjoy this holiday season.
The Netflix series comes from Tim Burton, who directed several episodes of Wednesday. The creators are Michael Gough and Miles Millar, who co-created Smallville.
