Preview — For All Mankind Season 3 Episode 5: Seven Minutes of Terror

For All Mankind, Previews

For All Mankind Season 3 Episode 5, “Seven Minutes of Terror,” picks up after the season’s second space tragedy, and we are only at the halfway point. No one could ever accuse For All Mankind of being too slow, that’s for sure.

After the harrowing events aboard Karen’s space hotel on For All Mankind Season 3 Episode 1, “Polaris,” the series left viewers with another heartstopping cliffhanger at the end of For All Mankind Season 3 Episode 4, “Happy Valley.”

NASA’s attempt to rescue their Russian adversaries turned deadly, and Commander Poole and her surviving team members’ lives are still very much in danger when things pick up on “Seven Minutes of Terror.”

One question going into “Seven Minutes of Terror” is whether Ed will be able to come to the rescue. On “Happy Valley,” Dev cut off his command control when the two disagreed about whether they should be the ones to rescue the Russians, leaving Ed helpless to do anything.

Ed will undoubtedly be furious and panicked, considering his daughter is on NASA’s team, but will Dev see past his ambition to be the first to Mars and give Ed back control so he can help?

The episode description references the race to Mars continuing with unexpected allies. This suggests that a full-on disaster will be avoided before the episode ends. Does that also mean that Russians and Americans will become one team working to beat Helios?

It’s hard to see how Ed, and even Karen, can trust Dev moving forward, but if everyone is safe, maybe they are ready to get back in the game.
