Star City Trailer Reveals the Soviet Union’s Secret War Before ‘For All Mankind’

For All Mankind, News

Before humanity could reach the stars on For All Mankind, the Soviet Union had to face a harsh conflict within its ranks.

Star City, the franchise’s upcoming prequel series, looks to explore that era of this universe’s alternate history.

Apple TV released the trailer for Star City, which premieres with two episodes on Friday, May 29, followed by one new episode every Friday through July 10.

Although For All Mankind Season 5 is still releasing new episodes, the trailer for Star City teases a new narrative that’s been briefly shown. In fact, this trailer pulls the curtain back on the troubles that plagued humanity’s first cosmic flights.

The trailer heavily establishes a thriller-mystery tone within this exploration of For All Mankind‘s past. Although the Soviet Union was successful in putting the first man on the moon, they’re still hesitant to share resources with the West.

Despite this, the country is still planning to conduct more lunar operations, which the Chief Designer, played by Rhys Ifans, has issues with. Meanwhile, Lyudmilla Raskova, the head of the KGB, played by Anna Maxwell Martin, enacts heavy surveillance within Star City.
