For All Mankind Season 5 Premiere Date Announced by Apple TV
For All Mankind will return with its highly anticipated fifth season later this year on Apple TV.
The space drama wrapped up its previous run with For All Mankind Season 4 Episode 10, “Perestroika,” in January 2024. That season finale saw the show jump in time to 2012. For All Mankind Season 5, premiering on Friday, March 27, “picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist,” per its description.
“Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system.”
“But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.”
For All Mankind‘s 10-episode season will unfold with one new episode weekly through the season finale on Friday, May 29.
The date announcement video features a voiceover from Joel Kinnaman’s Ed Baldwin: “Everything that’s happened has led to this moment. You’re gonna do things that people can’t even fathom. It’s on you to make the next move.”
Then, the video reveals The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s Sean Kaufman as Kelly and Alexei’s son, Alex. The character was previously played by Ezrah Lin, as last seen on For All Mankind Season 4 Episode 9, “Brazil.”
Kaufman is joined by new series regulars Mireille Enos (The Killing), Costa Ronin (The Americans), Ruby Cruz (Bottoms), and Ines Asserson (Royalteen). Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt are all returning for For All Mankind Season 5.
Apple TV renewed the series, created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, for its fifth season in April 2024.
“With each new season, For All Mankind continues to build out a fascinating world and capture global audiences through high quality storytelling that has been so skillfully developed by Ron, Matt, and Ben,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV, said, in part, at the time.
Showrunners Wolpert and Nedivi executive produce the series alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and Seth Edelstein. Sony Pictures Television produces.
