Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 3 Review: The Last Day of Bunny Folger
If Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 3, “The Last Day of Bunny Folger,” aired in Season 1, the episode would have begun with a voiceover done by Bunny.
Thankfully, the show is shaking things up in Season 2.
The voiceovers were never my favorite aspect of the show, but I get that they fit into the podcast theme. However, a flashback episode with an occasional voiceover from Charles is the perfect way to allow us to spend time with someone outside the trio while still fitting in with the podcast theme.

Going back to Bunny’s last day and spending it with her is more beneficial than I was expecting. For one, we get to know her a bit better. We’ve only ever seen her through the lens of Oliver, Charles, and Mabel, and normally, she was a thorn in their sides, so she was never portrayed in the best of light.
I wasn’t expecting to come away from “The Last Day of Bunny Folger” liking her so much. I’m invested in finding out the truth, not only to clear Oliver, Charles, and Mabel’s names but to get justice for Bunny as well.
Bunny’s flashback also gives us the opportunity to see a bunch of little moments that we missed between Oliver, Charles, and Mabel wrapping up one mystery and being forced into the next.

Bunny’s various run-ins with our trio are fantastic and let us see them in their off time, celebrating their victory with the Arconiacs and preparing for their own private celebration. These glimpses also help us not feel like we missed our weekly dose of their antics. Even though it is Bunny’s episode, they are still in it quite a bit.
Flashing back to Bunny’s last day also helps us slow down a bit and get the timeline straight.
We went from wrapping up Tim’s murder to discovering that Bunny had been killed, so there was never any time to catch our breath and re-focus a bit. After “The Last Day of Bunny Folger,” we’re in a good place to start digging into what led up to Bunny’s death.

We know what she did on her last day, and we have a couple of suspects. Nina definitely isn’t looking good, but she seems a bit too obvious to be the murderer, don’t you agree?
“The Last Day of Bunny Folger” mainly focuses on Bunny and the Arconia, and there is plenty to further dig into there, but I’m curious about the person who called her about the painting.
It seems too random that someone who chose that piece of evidence to put into Charles’ apartment for the painting — not to mention the unexpected connection Charles has with the painting — for it not to have a part in Bunny’s demise.
I wonder if the show is going to have the killer be someone who doesn’t live in the Arconia. It would be a nice change from Season 1, and honestly, if there were two murderers in my building, I would move.
