Marvel Studios Series ‘Echo’ to Feature the Return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio
Daredevil fans, rejoice! Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are confirmed to be reuniting for Marvel Studios’ upcoming series, Echo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cox and D’Onofrio would reprise their roles as Daredevil/Matt Murdock and Kingpin/Wilson Fisk, respectively. However, per THR, Marvel has not commented to confirm this news.

According to Deadline, the duo will return in the upcoming Hawkeye spinoff series. This news comes after D’Onofrio’s character was left in a precarious position on the Hawkeye finale.
This reunion will be the first time these characters appear together since Daredevil ended in 2018 on Netflix. It will not be the first time either of these actors has reprised their roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most recently, Cox’s character was Peter Parker’s attorney in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In addition, D’Onofrio debuted an updated version of Kingpin in Hawkeye.
In their three seasons together on Daredevil, Cox and D’Onofrio became known for their on-screen chemistry. Their characters were a classic battle of wills and contrasting methods of achieving their goals.

Since Marvel’s Netflix series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, were acquired by Disney, efforts have been made to bring these characters into the fold of the MCU.
With this in mind, this reunion opens the door for more characters featured in the Netflix series to appear in the MCU. In addition, Cox is also confirmed to return for another Marvel project that is currently in development.
We know that Echo will center around Maya Lopez’s consolidation of power as a gang leader in New York. However, the series will also feature her journey to reconnect with her Native American roots.

Based on where these characters were last in Hawkeye, Maya Lopez and Wilson Fisk have already faced off. These characters have unfinished business with one another.
If Echo follows the comic canon, there are more explosive storylines to follow with these characters. But, of course, Echo could always follow Marvel Studios’ precedent by telling unique stories far from their origins.
With this casting announcement, Echo has an opportunity to bring the best of old MCU favorites combined with new and compelling characters.
