Marvel Announces Defenders Series and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Will Stream on Disney+

News

For those who didn’t get a chance to finish binge-watching the Marvel series that just left Netflix, never fear! Fans will get a chance to revisit Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Disney+ as of March 16.

Marvel announced that the series previously available on Netflix would be available for Disney+ subscribers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. This will add to the already expansive library of Marvel content available on Disney+.

“Disney+ has served as the home for some of the most beloved brands in the industry, and the addition of these live-action shows brings more from the Marvel brand together, all in one place,” Michael Paull, President of Disney Streaming, said in the news release.

“We have experienced great success with an expanded content offering on Disney+ across our global markets and are excited to continue that here in the U.S. as well by offering our consumers not only great content with the new Marvel additions, but also a set of features that help ensure a viewing experience most suitable for them and their family,” Pull continued.

Marvel also announced that concurrently with the release of these titles, subscribers in the U.S. will receive an update to their Parental Controls that will prompt them to update their settings. This consideration is in line with the fact that these titles are rated higher than PG-13.

Considering that Marvel’s upcoming series Moon Knight is billed to be increasingly violent, this makes sense.

Fans are already speculating how characters from the non-Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows will fit into upcoming projects. Charlie Cox reprised his role as lawyer Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye

With the upcoming release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there will clearly be plenty of opportunities to revisit these characters in new ways through Marvel’s already established multiverse. In the meantime, fans will have even more content to enjoy and revisit in one convenient place.
