Charlie Cox Returning as Daredevil In Future Marvel Projects
The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and when that time comes, not just any man will don the Daredevil costume.
Charlie Cox is officially reprising his role as Matt Murdock in future projects for Marvel Studios, with Kevin Feige confirming the news himself during an interview with CinemaBlend for the Spider-Man: No Way Home press tour.
“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige revealed, but he stressed the details of the actor’s return are still a mystery. “Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Cox played crime-fighting lawyer Matt Murdock from 2015-2018 on Daredevil. The series was canceled, along with the rest of The Defenders lineup, when Disney acquired the rights to stream Marvel projects almost exclusively.
However, a cancellation didn’t stop fans from shouting praise for Cox’s series from the rooftops; its stance as one of the best adaptations of a Marvel property continues to hold firm in the wake of the new Disney+ series.
It is the first official confirmation fans have that Marvel’s Netflix-verse properties will exist within the MCU. This move opens the door for Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage to potentially return, with Punisher not far behind.
Daredevil has already begun the transition into the MCU with Hawkeye.
Echo, a character tied to a key villain from the series, has debuted. It’s speculated Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk during upcoming episodes, and the series has acknowledged these suspicions with a Kingpin-sized tease.

As for when Matt Murdock will return, fans won’t have to wait long. Rumors have been churning for months that Cox will appear as Peter Parker’s lawyer in No Way Home, and it’s rumored Deborah Ann Woll was in the area during reshoots as well.
However, Daredevil’s rightful place resides on the small screen. Once Cox is reintroduced and Hawkeye has established Fisk’s criminal underworld, we could see him pop up in She-Hulk and Echo, with a rebooted Daredevil series not far behind.
Regardless, Cox’s perfectly casted Matt Murdock is coming back to us, and all is right in Hell’s Kitchen.
