Marvel is embracing its younger fandom with Ms. Marvel!
The teen drama will follow Kamala Khan, a Captain Marvel superfan and Muslim American growing up in Jersey City. Kamala loves the Avengers and spends her days writing fan fiction, designing cosplay, and letting her imagination run ramped.
Following in the footsteps of Marvel’s Runaways and Cloak and Dagger, Iman Vellani’s series will focus on Kamala’s coming of age and her struggle to meet the expectations of her family and high-school peers.
That changes when Kamala finds herself with cosmically cool superpowers and a complicated family destiny.
She’s joined by close friends Bruno (Matt Lintz) and Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher), overbearing parents Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapoor) and Muneeba Khan (Zenobia Shroff), annoying older brother Amir (Saagar Shaikh), and love-interest Kamran (Rish Shah).
Brimming with comic book-style illustrations, teen angst, and fresh new faces, Ms. Marvel promises an earnest take on the teenage dream with a deeper look at what it means to be a fan and a hero.
The series promises younger viewers something they can sink their teeth into, an honest attempt to diversify the MCU for Muslim communities, and a safe space for girls to geek out over superheroes.
It’s time we give a warm welcome to Ms. Marvel, Earth’s mightiest fangirl and our next superhero obsession. She’s going to be something marvelous!

Series description: Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero megafan with an oversized imagination — particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home — that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
