
Netflix Geeked Week Series Day: 10 Things We Learned
Netflix is taking its genre fare to the internet, treating fans all over the world to a week of sneak peeks, first looks, trailers, renewals, and more with Geeked Week.
Much in the same vein of the TUDUM event that the streamer organized in September of 2021, Geeked Week expands on the idea of sharing all new shows and films with viewers worldwide, focusing on all things horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and all things genre.
Day one of the five-day event dropped teaser trailers for many of their long-awaited horror, sci-fi, and fantasy series including The Sandman, Warrior Nun, Manifest, and more.

First Looks Galore! Wednesday, The Midnight Club Convenes, And More
Series Day kicked off Monday with a first look at Jenna Ortega as the goth icon, Wednesday Addams, braids and all. The upcoming series, Wednesday, from the mind of Tim Burton follows the beloved daughter of the Addams family as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy only made more complicated by a murder.

Joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Christina Ricci, Gwendoline Christie, and more, Ortega’s Wednesday is coming soon.

From the creators of The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass comes the previously teased The Midnight Club. The mystery series adapted from the works of Christopher Pike, will follow a group of sick kids living in a hospice when things start to go terribly wrong.
The first look at the young cast gathering around harkens memories of Are You Afraid of the Dark? So, it will be interesting to see the glimpses we get before its debut. Check it out below.

The Midnight Club convenes October 7.
Guillermo Del Toro is bringing the scares to the streaming site with his latest anthology series, Cabinets of Curiosities. Pairing up with some of the biggest directors in horror right now and an impressive cast, the horror anthology series chronicles 8 horrifying tales from the mind of the master of horror himself.

Warrior Nun Is Coming Back for More
Though things had been quiet for a bit, Series Day brought news of the freshman genre series, Warrior Nun. The action-packed, sword-wielding series will be back for another season and viewers got a chance to get a taste of what’s to come in the aftermath of the fight against the devil and the looming battle against Adriel.

The Sandman (Finally) Has a Premiere Date and Some Casting News to Share
One of the few panels on Series Day featured a long-awaited adaptation coming to the streamer. Fans have been waiting and we now have a new trailer and a premiere date!
The cast including Tom Sturridge, Jenna Coleman, Vanesu Samunyai, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, was joined by showrunner Alan Heinberg and co-creator, Neil Gaiman as they offer insight into the series, adapting the graphic novel into a live action show, and their characters’ journey.

Throughout the cast panel, new character posters were shared including one for Coleman’s Johanna Constantine and Holbrook’s The Corinthian. Fans even got a casting bit as it was announced that Mark Hamill will be lending his voice to Mervyn Pumpkinhead.

The Umbrella Academy Teases Big Changes and The Sparrows
With a paradox created, The Umbrella Academy faces another looming deadline for the end of the world as they find themselves out of a house and out of a family in this new alternate universe. Some of the cast members joined the cast panel and teased a bit of what’s to come.
Newcomer and Sparrow’s number Five, Genesis Rodriguez, shares that though they are much more capable than the Brellis, the Sparrows are just as dysfunctional. While Justin H. Min, who plays Ben, that not only will we be able to have a corporeal body this season but also see how differently Sparrow! Ben is and how much of that change is nature versus nurture.

There’s More All of Us Are Dead & Alice in Borderland Coming
Among some of the many renewal announcements were two big Asian hits, All of Us Are Dead and Alice in Borderland. Fans got the news that the zombie horror series will be back for more gore, terror, and everything that a zombie outbreak entails as the first season followed a group of high school students who had to find a way to survive.

Meanwhile, the streamer dropped a few first look photos of the thriller manga adaptation, Alice in Borderland as Arisu and Usagi take the game to the next level. Check out a peek below.

Shadow & Bone Cast Share Some News and Teases What’s to Come
Though there’s not much that can be teased, the cast of Shadow & Bone endeavored to offer some insights in a clip of the cast announcing that production on season two has wrapped.
When asked about words to describe the upcoming season, the cast including newcomers Anna Leong Brophy, Lewis Tan, and Jack Wolfe shared a few including “heartbreaking,” “traumatizing,” and “love” which will have fans contemplating where those apply and how the novels’ events are adapted.

Shadow & Bone has wrapped production and is hopefully coming to the streamer this year.
Dark’s Creators Are Bringing Horror and Time Travel to The High Seas with 1899
Fans of Dark don’t have to wait much longer for a new gritty, horrifying, mystery series. Fans got a first look at the series, 1899. From the creators of Dark, comes this latest thriller that follows a group of passengers of the Kerberos, a ship where nothing is what it seems, and twists are found every step of the way.

Plenty of Fare for Anime, Manga, and Video Game Fans
There was a lot to share as far as Netflix’s adaptations go, especially in the anime, manga, and video game world.
Fans of the anime and manga One Piece got a first look behind the scenes at how production is going into bringing this big manga series to life including brief introductions to some of the cast.

On the video game side of things, viewers were treated to a new trailer of the upcoming Resident Evil series that follows life in New Racoon City and the dangers that lurk behind the gates.

Sneak Peeks of Manifest Final Season and Fate: Winx Saga
Series day provided extended first looks for the final season of the rescued NBC series, Manifest, and a glimpse at a new addition to the world of Fate: The Winx Saga.
Manifest’s extended clip kicks things off in the 2-part final season as the search for answers as to what happened to those passengers on that flight. Will the answer remain elusive, or will everyone finally get what they need? Check out the clip below.

Winx fans will get to meet Flora, a new student at Alfea, played by Paulina Chavez. Check out a first look below.

It’s Almost Time to Sink Our Teeth into First Kill!
With the segment hosted by the fabulous Princess Weekes for Most, viewers were treated to a sneak peek of the first episode of the teen vampire drama, First Kill where Cal and Juliette play a game of spin the bottle that leads to some dangerous sparks flying.
The clip, accompanied by commentary about the scene from leading ladies Imani Lewis and Sarah Catherine Hook offers insight into what goes into filming a love scene like that.
