Girls5Eva Review: Can’t Wait 2 Wait (Season 2 Episode 4)
Girls5Eva Season 2 is already living up to the high expectations it set with the first season. Girls5Eva Season 2 Episode 4, “Can’t Wait 2 Wait,” adds even wackier layers to Summer’s (Busy Philipps) already extremely offbeat persona.

”Can’t Wait 2 Wait” introduces Summer’s parents, Chris and Kris, who Neil Flynn and Amy Sedaris play perfectly. These characters are even more outrageous than their daughter—by a lot.
Amy Sedaris’s characters are often very weird and outliers, but Neil Flynn often plays the brooding comedic character.
It is fun to see Sedaris do what she does so well as Summer’s mom, and Flynn go into a strange new territory. Every moment with them on screen is a delight. It’s also a reminder of how much Busy Philipps is absolutely smashing her character.
She commits completely to Summer’s nonsensical logic.

We now need to meet the other Girls5Eva parents. Imagine Wickie’s (Renee Elise Goldsberry) mom and dad.
The episode also gave us a small Kev (Andrew Rannells) cameo. Hopefully, Kev gets a bigger role in one of the remaining four episodes, because we’d like to see what he’s done with the basement.
You know it’s a strange episode when Wickie makes a lot of sense. Her explanation of why she doesn’t date normies makes so much sense. Her lack of caring about Summer’s situation also makes sense.

In fact, Gloria (Paula Pell) cares too much. Yes, Summer doesn’t make the best decisions, but she’s an adult.
She should be able to let her parents trick her into being a born-again virgin until her second marriage. Gloria is becoming a bit of a busybody.
Dawn (Sara Bareilles) and Ray’s (Piter Marek) “affair” makes me wonder if that will be Ray’s only not-so-romantic entanglement. He seems like a character clearly written to be either Wickie or Summer’s future love interest.

Speaking of Wickie’s love interests, [Redacted] also now needs to make a cameo. In fact, Shaq of Love needs a parody.
Other Thoughts
- Ryan Salge (Jamil Moore) needs to make another appearance. We want to see if he can sway Wickie back to the normie life.
- Per last week’s review, I forgot that Carson Daly already made a cameo on season one, but I meant one where he interacts with the characters as their current selves, not the TRL days.
- This is one of Scott’s (Daniel Breaker) best episodes so far. He’s been really funny this season.
- I am glad Dawn mentions the mustache because I thought it may have been ignored.
- The ‘90s fashion is impeccable in this show.
- Business Thrones (aka the Succession parody) hopefully becomes a regular gag.
- Sara Bareilles’s clever reference to “Love Song” is Dawn’s best moment yet.
- The “whore genetics” line is why I’ll always love this silly little show.
- Glad the Cara (Heidi Gardner) sleeping with the dads saga continues.
