FBI Review: Ghost from the Past (Season 4 Episode 20)
On FBI Season 4 Episode 20, “Ghost from the Past,” the entire team doubts OA, but he stands his ground and continues to be a phenomenal agent.
OA has been through a lot in the last few episodes — saran gas, his partner being down for the count, his supervisor almost being killed. So FBI thought, “what else can we do to sweet, sweet OA?” and introduced a terrorist he thought was dead.
Nina Nina Bobina

Nina Chase is a great agent. She’s conscientious, cares about her teammates, and always tries to be a team player even when it may go too far.
Nina doesn’t know OA as well as the rest of the team does — especially not as well as Maggie.
So when she becomes concerned with how he’s acting, it makes sense. Then, though, she takes an issue that wasn’t incredible, and she brings it to Jubal.
This makes sense. Nina wants people that know OA personally to check on him. But it feels like she pulled the trigger a little early on that call, especially considering OA was correct the entire time.
OA, I Would Never Doubt You

While I understand why the team doesn’t believe OA, especially after the multiple pieces of “proof” stating that this man is dead, it does disappoint me.
We’re now at a point where OA has known this team for upwards of four years. Despite that, and again, this is a pretty wild thing to suggest, I expected the team to back him up.
Nina makes sense. She doesn’t know him too well. But Scola? Jubal? It makes me upset that OA basically had to go through that alone.
Even though I don’t believe Maggie would have bought into the entire thing, she would not doubt him so boldly.
TSA Agent With a Twist

Sometimes I watch FBI, and I think, “Wow, what an interesting case. Good thing that will most likely never happen.”
On “Ghost from the Past,” though, it becomes dangerously clear how close the team could come to a plane full of casualties.
And while I’m sure there aren’t that many TSA agents running drugs, there are definitely some, which makes me feel uneasy.
FBI is at its best when it presents a problem that could be real because it leaves you thinking for hours, days, or even weeks after the episode has ended.
This is one of the show’s better episodes — one of the best of the season — because the storyline holds enough real-life fear to bring the agents into the real world.
Stray Thoughts:
- Was there a real reason for me to include this photo of Scola in glasses? No. Did I anyway? Of course, I did.
- How are you gonna introduce Nina through a romance storyline and then not allow that romance to blossom? Give me Scola and Nina on a date, dangit!
- OA speaking to his therapist is one of my favorite things they’ve done with OA this season. It’s a relief to see that the man who holds all the pain finally lets it out somewhere.
- Nina’s messy bun is the equivalent of Maggie’s beanie.

I totally agree with everything you said. I get that Nina was doubtful, but the rest of them not trusting his gut after working with him for years, that really irritated me. I mean, just a few episodes ago, we had Isobel telling that BAU agent that she goes with her gut (which turns out to be true) and that the higher ups should not doubt her, but when it comes to OA, we cannot trust his gut, despite the fact he was right about everything. I mean, he explained to Nina that he and his military team tried hunting this bad guy for three years, meaning they studied this guy`s MO, therefore the team should have trusted his gut ( aka his prior experience on this bad guy) instead of questioning and making us the views think he was losing his mind. Also, when it turned out he was in fact right all along, Nina was the only one that kind of apologized, the other team members just wrote it off as,”you got lucky on this one.” It was a good episode, but the treatment of OA`s character this episode pissed me off, so I would give it a 2/5, otherwise it would have been a 4/5. Sorry, but OA is one of my favs, so the way he was treated this episode kind of ruined the episode for me.
