Good Trouble Review: Something Unpredictable, but in the End It’s Right (Season 4 Episode 6)
Dennis singing the Backstreet Boys is a whole moment and vibe. It’s his 40th birthday after all, and he should be celebrating.
Open conversations and iconic 90’s hits and costumes are the basis on Good Trouble Season 4 Episode 6 “Something Unpredictable, but in the End It’s Right,” and besides the first coterie party of the season with the mamas on Good Trouble Episode 1 Episode 6, “Imposter,” it may be my favorite.
Good Trouble seamlessly blends humor with heart, and “Something Unpredictable, but in the End It’s Right,” is perfectly light, until it isn’t.
Davia and Isabella planning Dennis’ surprise party together is an interesting choice. While I don’t think anyone else is as close to Dennis, minus Gael, the women have different relationships with him and are powerhouses that could ultimately cause this party to flop due to those strong personalities.
However, it would be way worse if the party planning responsibilities went to only one of them instead.

The feelings of jealousy and exclusion are so palpable here. At this point, Gael has been holding in his feelings for weeks, and Davia is still keeping her breakup with Matt a secret from Dennis, which is a complete backtrack for her in terms of character development.
Davia is confident and fierce and knows what she wants most of the time, so it’s hard to see her hide parts of her feelings away when she is really and truly starting to love and accept herself.
While Davia is struggling, Dennis is an absolute delight in Season 4 so far. His father figure energy comes out not just with the Coterie members, but with his food truck patrons as well. This is a huge step from his angry, more absent days.
Good Trouble Season 4 Episode 6 also addresses Dennis’ anxiety in a way where we know it’s there but doesn’t magically disappear even if he’s enjoying himself. It’s real and I appreciate the vulnerability.
The party is fun. Dennis is one of my favorite characters even when he was going through his darkest periods, and his story is coming full circle back into the resilient man that we know has been there the whole time.
“Something Unpredictable, but in the End It’s Right” brings out the best side of Dennis, and I hope the positivity and happiness he’s been experiencing lately will continue for him.

I love that everyone participates in karaoke. I would expect the main coterie members to join, but it’s great to see all the significant others and non-residents join as well, and yet again Kelly brings the perfectly timed lines to the table.
Good Trouble would be nothing without its drama, and “Something Unpredictable, but in the End It’s Right” is not immune.
During dinner itself, Gael freaks out about how much time Isabella and Dennis have been spending together (finally, he’s only been brooding for several episodes!) and storms out. His reaction is a bit childish, but I can’t say I’m not happy that he revealed how he is feeling.
The heart-to-heart that these future co-parents end up having with each other is sweet, and it’s clear that they care for each other on a deeper level; I could only hope they become a couple down the road.
In terms of feelings, Davia’s confident and self-assured side returns when she admits to Dennis that Matt broke up with her. Dennis is patient and kind and truly only wants the best for her, but I think he could relax a bit knowing that she is single again, and I think she will be able to progress on her new path without this weight on her shoulders.

They even end up singing karaoke at the party together because of course, there cannot be karaoke involved and no duet from Davia and Dennis (this is truly a staple in their story), they give me butterflies every time they look at each other!
Dennis is the star of Good Trouble Season 4 Episode 6, and I truly love that for him, but other details come out that are important.
I’m still back and forth on whether I want Marianna to be with Evan, Joaquin, or thrive as a single woman, but what’s even more infuriating is the fact that Evan thinks he can swoop in with his money at any moment.
The offer from Evan to buy Revitalize Beauty from Jackie so Marianna and the FCG can be happy again is not the move. It takes away from the whole point of the women-owned narratives that Good Trouble strives to tell.
Callie’s (surprise cameo from the East Coast queen!) solution in revealing that a non-compete agreement isn’t enforceable in California is the real win.
