Derry Girls Season 3: Release Date, Trailer, and Netflix Updates
After a three-year wait, audiences in the United Kingdom and Ireland will finally get to enjoy the release of Derry Girls Season 3. The Irish comedy premieres on April 12th on Channel 4 with episodes released every following Tuesday.
Unfortunately for American fans, it looks like the wait for the new Derry Girls season will be a little longer. There is still no word from Netflix about when Season 3 will premiere stateside; however, it looks as though it could be around September.
Season 3 will be the final season of the show.

Channel 4 has released the trailer for Derry Girls Season 3, which promises more chaotic family drama, embarrassing moments, 90s fashion, and clashes between the school’s clergy teachers and rebellious students.
When we last saw Erin, Orla, Clare, and the rest of the gang, there was hope in the air for peace following a visit from US President Bill Clinton, a historic event that indeed happened in 1995, sparking the end of The Troubles.
The characters, however, continue to face the “troubles” of adolescence, growing up in a complicated time for their community.
Notably, actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays fan-favourite Clare Devlin, has a reduced role in the upcoming season due to scheduling conflicts with Bridgerton and pandemic filming issues, according to Belfast Live.

It’s unknown how much we will see of Coughlan in the new season, but she still appears to have a significant role in the trailer.
Hopefully, the United States doesn’t have to wait too long for Derry Girls‘ exciting final season. Since Netflix released Season 2 six months after it premiered on Channel 4, September or October is a possibility. The popularity of the show might prompt the streaming service to release it sooner in the States for American viewers.
Derry Girls is directed by Michael Lennox and produced by Caroline Leddy, Liz Lewin, Jimmy Mulville, McGee, and Brian Falconer.
