ATX Television Festival Adds ‘Dark Winds,’ ‘Evil,’ ‘Tom Swift,’ ‘Baron + Toluca,’ and More Programming
This year’s ATX Television Festival, returning in person for the first time since 2019, has announced several additions to its programming for this year’s event, which will take place June 2-5 in Austin, Texas.
Announcements made this week for Season 11 of the festival include the additions AMC’s Dark Winds, Evil, Nancy Drew spinoff series Tom Swift, Baron and Toluca, and Station Eleven.

Station Eleven: Paramount Television Studios and HBO Max will present a conversation with the creative team behind Station Eleven, based on the best-selling novel by Emily St. John Mandel. Confirmed panelists include creator/showrunner/executive producer Patrick Somerville, production designer Ruth Ammon, casting director Jeanie Bacharach, music supervisor Liza Richardson, costume designer Helen Huang, and cinematographer Steve Cosens.
Dark Winds: AMC Networks will headline the festival’s Opening Night on Thursday, June 2, with a World Premiere screening of Dark Winds. Dark Winds is a new psychological thriller from creator/executive producer Graham Roland based on the iconic Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman. Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, the series follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes. The closer he digs to the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee. Chee, too, has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.
The screening will be followed by a panel conversation with Roland, showrunner/executive producer Vince Calandra, director and executive producer Chris Eyre, executive producer/star Zahn McClarnon, and cast members Kiowa Gordon, and Jessica Matten.
Tom Swift: The CW will present a screening and conversation for Tom Swift, the upcoming Nancy Drew spin-off from co-creators/executive producers Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau, and Cameron Johnson. The series follows inventor Tom Swift (Tian Richards), whose world is shaken to its core after the shocking disappearance of his father. Attendees will get an early look at episode two of the series, followed by a conversation with cast and creatives yet to be announced.
Baron & Toluca: The festival will also feature the premiere of Baron & Toluca, an independent pilot from Roswell co-stars Majandra Delfino and Brendan Fehr. Described as a “spiritual successor” to Roswell, the series follows exes Jake Baron (Fehr) and Toluca Mendez (Delfino), who find themselves reunited in a familiar part of New Mexico — much to the delight of one and the horror of the other. Forced together by unforeseen circumstances, they must remain there together, to try and unravel a paranormal mystery threatening to kill them both. Following the premiere screening, Delfino and Fehr will be joined by fellow cast members Arthur Martinez, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Micah Fowler, and David Walton.
Evil: The festival will also screen the Season 3 premiere episode of the Paramount+ original series Evil, from creators, showrunners, and executive producers Robert and Michelle King. Starring Katja Herbers, Mike Colter and Aasif Mandvi, the series is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Herbers, Colter, and Mandvi.
Parenthood: It was also announced today that Peter Krause will join fellow cast members for the previously announced Parenthood reunion panel.
Other previously programming includes a Scrubs reunion Justified creative team reunion, as well as:
- The world premiere screening of Lifetime’s limited series Flowers in the Attic: The Origin, which will then be followed by a panel conversation with executive producers Paul Sciarrotta and Jennie Snyder Urman, and cast members Jemima Rooper, Kelsey Grammer, Alana Boden, and Hannah Dodd, with more to be announced.
- A special live episode of the Friday Night Lights rewatch podcast “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts,” hosted by co-stars and friends Derek Phillips (Billy Riggins) and Stacey Oristano (Mindy Collette-Riggins).
- The Season 2 Premiere Screening of Peacock’s original comedy Rutherford Falls, followed by a panel conversation with co-creator/showrunner/writer/executive producer Sierra Teller Ornelas, co-creator/executive producer/star Ed Helms, writer/star Jana Schmieding, and cast members Michael Greyeyes, Jesse Leigh and Dustin Milligan.
