Asher Grodman on the Group Dynamic of ‘Ghosts’ and Why Trevor Might Feel Uncomfortable on the Upcoming Episode [Interview]

Ghosts, Interviews, PaleyFest

The mystery of Trevor’s missing pants has been solved, and it turned out to be a story that carried a deeper meaning than anyone probably would have guessed.

We caught up with Grodman on the red carpet ahead of the Ghosts panel at PaleyFest to talk about his reaction to that reveal, as well as one of the biggest challenges working on the show and what he’s most proud of from the first season.

Plus, a quick teaser for Ghosts Season 1 Episode 17, “Attic Girl.” (You can watch the full video below.)

Grodman said he’s most proud of the group dynamic on the series, including the “cast’s ability to find the history of the relationships and the richness between the ghosts” while also bringing the characters of Sam and Jay into the fold.

Interestingly, it’s also the group scenes between the ghosts that Grodman said were most challenging, but only at first. “In the beginning, those big group scenes are always the challenge. There are so many moving pieces. As the season went on, those start to energize you,” Grodman said.

After doing more individual scenes and then coming back together as a group, Grodman said “Everyone would just start sparkling.”

“The group ones, in the beginning, were the hardest but they ended up being the most fun.”

For Grodman, that group dynamic is really what’s most important about the big reveal regarding Trevor’s pants, too. It turns out, Trevor lost his pants because of a true act of kindness.

“The great thing about that episode is that it ends up being about the group, because his connection to his living family is kind of superseded by the loyalty and the love that the ghosts throw at him. They’re really there for him. So I feel like he kind of moves from one family to another family,” he said.

“I don’t know how it’s going to play out. I do know Trevor’s going to feel very uncomfortable in this next episode. So maybe they can also be there to support him as he’s objectified by a teenager!” Grodman exclaimed.

It certainly sounds like we have a lot to look forward to!
