Big Sky Review: Happy Thoughts (Season 2 Episode 10)
The stakes and the consequences continue to rise on Big Sky Season 2 Episode 10, “Happy Thoughts.” It feels like things are about to reach a boiling point.
A consistent tension has been threaded through every episode of this season with the arrival of the Bhullar drug cartel. It’s not unlike the tension surrounding the nefarious Kleinsasser family from the back half of Big Sky‘s first season.
Everyone is searching for something, and many are searching for the same thing. The bag of money that went missing from the car crash on the Season 2 opener and Ronald’s whereabouts being the most sought-after among those doing business in the mountain town.

Ronald and Scarlet are searching for freedom, but it’s not looking good for the murderous couple, and I don’t see a quaint, peaceful cabin life in Alaska in their future.
First of all, Ronald is very close to death. Although, that doesn’t get in the way of him killing an innocent maid at the hotel in which they are hiding out.
Secondly, Scarlet’s daughter, Phoebe, is getting really fed up with being jerked around. This poor kid has been passed around and used as a bargaining chip. Unfortunately, she ends up back on the run with her mom and Ronald.

And third, they were not successful in killing Wolf.
I should’ve known he’d survive—Big Sky isn’t going to give up the talent that is John Carroll Lynch that easily. He will definitely come to haunt Ronald and possibly lead Cassie and Mark to him.
As for the very popular bag of money, it’s like Jenny says, “The key is T-Lock.”

Ren, Jag, and now their father; Dietrich, Travis, and Jenny, along with the Helena Sheriff’s Office, are all looking for the money that T-Lock has acquired through dumb luck and due to no competence of his own.
This is a sign that things are coming to a head.
Who will get to T-Lock first? Who kidnapped Max? When will Jag get his comeuppance?
I’m going to need this betrayal of Ren rectified swiftly and for him to pay for being a terrible brother.

He better steer clear of Tonya, too. She’s found something she’s good at and seems to have a genuinely respectful working relationship with Ren; I would hate for this jag-off to mess that up, if he hasn’t already.
I hope Ren’s plan comes to fruition. Partly, to spite Jag, but mostly because I want her and Tonya to stick around.
