Michelle Obama to Guest on ‘black-ish’ Season 8
- black-ish has big things coming for its final season. TVLine reports the comedy will feature a guest appearance from former First Lady Michelle Obama in Season 8.
- The show made the announcement on Twitter writing, “#blackish is going all out for the final season! We are honored to have trailblazer @MichelleObama join us as an upcoming guest star.”
- It was previously announced that black-ish would end with Season 8, which is set to premiere midseason.
- If you want to catch up before the big goodbye, all seasons of black-ish are streaming on Hulu.

Netflix Releases ‘The Witcher’ Season 2 Trailer, Episode Titles
- After two long years, The Witcher is finally coming back. With the release of the Season 2 trailer, fans know what to expect.
- Variety reports, the clip features Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia unimpressed by all the looming threats saying, “I’ve lived through three supposed end of days. It’s all horseshit.”
- Per the official synopsis: “Convinced that Yennefer’s (Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt brings Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows — his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
- Netflix also announced the titles for seven of the upcoming eight episodes: “A Grain of Truth,” “Kaer Morhen,” “What Is Lost,” “Redanian Intelligence,” “Turn Your Back,” “Dear Friend,” and “Voleth Meir.”
- The Witcher has already been renewed for Season 3, with the franchise expanding to include The Witcher: Blood Origin, an anime feature film, and a kid-friendly show.
- The Witcher Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix, with Season 2 premiering Friday, Dec. 17.

HBO Renews ‘Succession’ for Season 4
- Looks like there’s plenty more Roy family drama to mine, as HBO has renewed Emmy-winning drama Succession for Season 4, per Deadline.
- Considering that the Season 3 premiere has 1.4 million viewers across all platforms, this news isn’t unexpected.
- Succession Season 3 revolves around the Roy civil war, and the ongoing fallout of Kendall revealing all his father Logan’s dirty laundry.
- The series stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook, with Alexander Skarsgård, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis and Dasha Nekrasova appearing in Season 3.
- Succession airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO, and is also available on HBO Max.

Jenna Dewan Brings Lucy Lane to ‘Superman & Lois’
- Lois Lane is about to get a visit from her sister, as Jenna Dewan will reprise the role of Lucy Lane in Superman & Lois Season 2.
- Dewan first appeared as Lucy in Supergirl Season 1. She had a romantic relationship with James, until she realized he had feelings for Kara. She’s also a JAG lawyer who was co-director of the D.E.O. with J’onn.
- The character of Sam Lane was changed between the two shows, so we wonder if Lucy will undergo a similar character development? Dewan is set to recur on Superman & Lois.
- Superman & Lois Season 1 is streaming on The CW, with Season 2 returning midseason.

ABC Gives Full Season Orders to ‘The Wonder Years,’ ‘Home Economics’
- ABC is expanding its investment in comedies, with The Wonder Years Season 1, and Home Economics Season 2 receiving full season “back 9” orders.
- TVLine reports, The Wonder Years is averaging 4.8 million viewers in Live+7 playback, which ties it with The Conners as the network’s top comedy.
- The Wonder Years is a reboot of the original, this time focusing on a middle-class Black family living in Montgomery, AL in the late ’60s.
- Home Economics follows three siblings raising their families under very different financial situations, and how it impacts their relationship. It has averaged 3.6 million viewers in Live+7 playback.
- The Wonder Years airs Wednesdays at 8:30/7:30c, while Home Economics airs Wednesdays at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.

E.R. Fightmaster to Recur as ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s’ First Non-Binary Doctor
- After appearing in Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 3, “Hotter Than Hell,” E.R. Fightmaster has been promoted to recurring in the role of Dr. Kai Bartley.
- According to Variety, Fightmaster will next be seen in the Nov. 11 episode, and several others before the midseason break.
- Dr. Bartley was part of the team trying to woo Meredith to a Minnesota hospital, so she could work on research to cure Parkinson’s.
- Per the official character description: “They are dedicated to their craft and extremely talented at what they do. Confident as hell and able to make even the most detailed and mundane science seem exciting and cool, Kai and Amelia bond over their shared love of medicine and the brain.”
- Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.

The CW Sets ‘The Black Pack’ Variety Special with Taye Diggs, Ne-Yo, Eric Bellinger
- Taye Diggs is taking a break from high school football to give a musical tribute to Black culture. The All-American star will join R&B singers Ne-Yo and Eric Bellinger for The Black Pack: We Three Kings and The Black Pack: Excellence at The CW.
- Deadline reports, We Three Kings, premiering Friday, Nov. 29 at 8/7c, is “a holiday-themed celebration with both classic and new music brought to life on stage.”
- The specials include music, dance and comedy, as well as appearances from Jordin Sparks, Tank, and Sevyn Streeter.
- Excellence doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but will “focus on celebrating Black excellence and culture through musical and dance performances. Viewers can expect appearances by a star-studded list of guests commemorating Juneteenth.”
- There will also be a tribute to The Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr. and a new song celebrating Juneteenth.
- The Black Pack: We Three Kings premieres Friday, Nov. 29 at 8/7c on The CW.
