The episode is an extremely personal look at the way Kara views herself and her friendship with Lena. “Mxy in the Middle” appears to be taking inspiration from that at least a little bit since it looks like Lena will be a major focus of the hour.
This is endlessly exciting because it gives the incredible Katie McGrath more time to shine, and it’ll allow us to learn more about Lena with her. Lena’s mother has always been quite a mystery to the character and the series, and it’s only fitting for an episode with Mxy to demystify that situation.
It is unfortunate that Lena’s mother’s birthplace doesn’t seem to instantly love her as much as we do, but they’ll learn to appreciate her. Knowing Lena, something detrimental will happen while she’s visiting, and her intelligence and skills will be the only thing to save them.
Ultimately, “Mxy in the Middle” is shaping up to be quite an exciting Supergirlepisode. There may even be a chance for us to hear Melissa Benoist sing before the hour’s end because Mxy must tell the Super Friends about Nyxly through song.
Mxy knows what he’s doing, and we have no choice but to love him for it.
