Big Brother Season 23 Week 7 Recap: Sarah Beth Does the Cookout’s Dirty Work
Sarah Beth might be the Big Brother Season 23 Week 7 HOH, but she seals her fate as the next victim of The Cookout Alliance for Week 8.
It is clear that Sarah Beth is an intelligent person, but her gameplay this season is less than to be desired. It stems from the fact that her only true alliance is with Kyland. Sadly for her, Kyland is only looking out for the safety of The Cookout Alliance.

Kyland is more strategic than Sarah Beth and convinces her to target the three remaining houseguests not part of his alliance. How he makes Sarah Beth believe Claire is out to get her is preposterous. If Sarah Beth trusts her own instincts, this week plays out entirely differently.
It makes sense that Sarah Beth worries about the Chopping Block Roulette when thinking about her nominations. She even ridiculously tells each houseguest not to play the game, which in turn only helps her game for the week. It’s a good strategy, but it’s put forth horribly.
Alyssa chooses to not listen to Sarah Beth and plays Roulette, which is a nice change of pace for her. Now that Christian is a distant memory, she is now playing her own game. However, it hilariously backfires in her face as her one true ally Xavier is placed on the block.

The High Roller games are not living up to their initial hype. A majority of the house does not have enough money to play the game this week, so Alyssa is handed her win. With Derek X. getting evicted, the only person who may have enough money to play next week is Derek F.
This week plays out quite differently if Derek X. actually decides to play Roulette. He most certainly beats Alyssa, secures his safety, and maybe Sarah Beth then targets Hannah. This breaks up the strongest alliance in Big Brother history, which is still a big game move for her.
A nice addition to this High Roller twist is providing more Big Brother bucks during the HOH competition. The chances of more houseguests being able to compete is greater. Hopefully, Sarah Beth does not get any BB Bucks since she was unable to play HOH.

Also, how in the world is Derek F. getting the most money each week? Derek F. has literally done nothing the entire game but sit around, sleep, eat, and talk negatively about Tiffany. He might be floating right up to finale night and possibly winning the game because he is so well-liked in the Big Brother house.
Speaking of Derek F., he is the only competitor to go for the cash during the Veto competition. It makes sense that he tries to go for money instead of winning the veto because he knows he is safe during the week. However, anyone who goes for cash instead of the Veto puts a huge target on their back.
Derek F. also continues to show he is horrible at competitions. His final time was 13 minutes longer than what it takes Xavier to finish and eventually pull himself off the block. Xavier is definitely the biggest threat still in the house and could face eviction sooner than later.

And Sarah Beth continues to make us angry with her negative comments. She is sour over the fact that America does not give her any BB Bucks to play the High Roller games. And now that she evicts the Derek X., the fan-favorite of Big Brother Season 23, she seals her fate as the enemy of the game.
Though Derek X. is the biggest competition in the Big Brother house, it is not in Sarah Beth’s best interest to get him out yet. Derek X. and Claire figure out The Cookout exists, but yet are not telling Alyssa or Sarah Beth to save themselves?
That makes no sense for their gameplay as they should all band together to try to get some numbers back on their side.

It is too late for this alliance now. Derek X. is the only real competitor of these four houseguests. With him gone, they will crumble one by one.
And now that Tiffany is the new HOH, Sarah Beth or Alyssa will most likely be leaving next week. Hopefully, it will be Sarah Beth seeing Julie Chen on eviction night. But with the High Roller competition still to come, maybe someone form The Cookout will get the axe instead.
